Built from 3/16" heavy duty steel, these American made bumpers are designed and manufactured in Michigan and tested on various terrains across this country to include the rocks Johnson Valley, CA, trails, dunes and backwoods from coast to coast. Stepping up from the factory bumper options, the Blaze bumper was engineered for not only superior strength, but a high clearance design to improved departure angle when you're out on the trail. Overall build quality and fit are top notch. However, there are some details and choices that were aggravating. The biggest aggravation was that the backup sensors do not fit in the bumper without modification of the factory harness. The 2 inner sensors do not have enough slack in the harness which required that the factory harness reopened up and additional slack be provided; which in and of itself isn't a huge deal but it wasn't mentioned in the instructions at all so the surprise of it was annoying. Also, the backing plates for the sensors do not fit well for the inner sensors, they allow the sensors to move and don't keep them secure. Luckily, I had the backing plates from the "plugs" which are just a bit shorter and worked perfectly (while we are talking about the sensor holders, while I love the design, getting those small screws started was a much bigger pain than you'd expect. (the $130 price tag for the 2 screens, 4 sensor holders, and 8 screws seemed a bit excessive also) I also don't understand the choice to use Allen fasteners when the Bronco uses Torx plus fasteners from the factory, this would have been a nice bit of continuity IMO. Finally, just not a huge fan of numerous allen head to flange nut fasteners for the name plate and corner screens. I do like that the corners screens can be swapped, so that's understandable, but the middle screen with the Crawtek name seems like it could be just part of the bumper. All that being said, it looks great, appears to be well built, and it installed on the Bronco easily.
